Solid waste is collected and removed daily from campus receptacles located in parking lots, receptacles located outside of buildings, and from the interior of buildings that are serviced by custodial services staff.

All waste collected is delivered to a 2.4-cubic yard compactor with a 42-cubic yard receiver and compacted daily. The compactor is located in the Facilities complex. The compactor averages 406 tons of waste collected per year.

The University has numerous dumpsters ranging in size from 4, 6, and 8 yards located throughout campus. The City of Denton Solid Waste Department collects all waste form the dumpsters and the compactor on scheduled pick up days.
