Grounds Maintenance personnel make every effort to present an attractive and pleasant-looking campus for every person who comes to visit, study, or work on the UNT campus.

They manage the landscape outside of the buildings, and care weekly for over 400 acres of property in multiple locations. Responsibilities range from weed eating and mowing to irrigation design, installation, and repair. They enhance the look of the campus with new landscape installations and spring/fall color changes. The greenhouse crew supplies plants for landscaping and special events.

Other work includes emergency repair of the landscape after outdoor functions, general cleaning of campus, weed, insect, and mud control, as well as trimming the thousands of trees and shrubs on campus.
