Grounds Maintenance personnel make every effort to present an attractive and pleasant-looking campus for every person who comes to visit, study, or work on the UNT campus.
They manage the landscape outside of the buildings, and care weekly for over 400 acres of property in multiple locations. They enhance the look of the campus with new landscape installations and spring/fall color changes. The greenhouse crew supplies plants for landscaping and special events.
Responsibilities:
- Weed eating and mowing
- Irrigation design, installation, and repair
- Emergence landscape repair after outdoor functions
- General campus cleaning
- Weed, insect, and mud control
- Tree and shrub trimming
Plant Rental Pricing
Ferns
- Small - $3.00 each
- Large - $6.00 each
Ficus
- Small - $6.00
- Large - $8.00
Delivery Charge
- Orders of 1 – 33 plants will incur a $50 delivery charge
- Orders of 34+ plants will incur a $1.50 per plant delivery charge
Work requests for plants will need to be submitted ONE WEEK before the requested delivery date. In the request state the type of plant, quantity, date of delivery and date of return as well as any schematics for plant placement.
Orders that require placement of plants per a schematic plan will be charged on an hourly basis of $20/hr per worker for labor.
Orders without a schematic plan will be simply placed inside the room and the renting entity will be required to place the plants. If delivery staff is asked or needed to place the plants at the last minute, then a charge of $30 per worker hour will be incurred by the renting entity for the time spent arranging the rentals.
