Electric Usage Tips
Tip: Leaving? Turn it off.
- Going home for the weekend; staying gone for the night? Turn off your AC. It’s bearable when you come home and it saves you from a high electricity bill and the environment from more wasted energy. Also, unplug appliances that suck energy! Energy strips come in handy when you do this.
- UNT Facilities Maintenance uses a scheduling system to turn off the AC in classrooms, based on when they are occupied.
Tip: Make some energy saving investments on your home.
- You save money, help the environment, AND you can get income tax credits for doing it. (This may be more practical for your parents to do, but for you to keep in mind.) Learn more about Denton Municipal Electric EnergySave Rebates.
